The area of land adjacent to the stream, pond or lake from which runoff into the waterway will occur. Note that the paddock area could include several separately fenced paddocks.



This is used as part of the cost calculations. Note that the cost calculations do not include the potential production of valuable honey or essential oils from the manuka or kanuka.




Note that this is the total concentration, rather than 'Olsen-P'. The average P concentration in NZ pastures is ca. 1100 mg/kg. Value only used for the phosphate calculations.



The % slope is defined as the vertical rise / horizontal run x 100. Anything over 7% is considered to be steep.

Manuka has larger seed capsules and a prickly feel. Kanuka has smaller seed capsules and is softer.
